Our Experience
Commercial
Our client, a business simulations firm, turned to NetCarrel to take their well established real world training programme materials into the digital world. A highly engaging and successful training programme of business practices and expertise was transformed into a complementary multi-language Moodle-based online solution. NetCarrel advised, developed and designed a system that would meet the needs of their end client, a global leader in foodservice and support services.
The platform comprises: -
- Pre-training assessment
- A core of interactive curriculum material
- Post real-world training assessment
- Best practice and knowledge transfer forums
- Action planning and personnel development tools
- Training completion certification
Our involvement with this client has been ongoing since 2009 and our content development, learning platform deployment and in-depth consultation has contributed to a programme where over 3800 employees of a diverse and globally distributed workforce have been trained with and benefited from access to world-beating resources, in their native language, online 24/7.
NetCarrel also developed tools that enabled senior managers to gain an insight into their workforce, communicate with them, see and calculate the benefits gained from this training of their global workforce. This project is also supported by NetCarrel’s training and end user technical support services.
“I worked with Haydn [NetCarrel MD] to develop a custom Moodle platform to support a large rollout of an international program. What makes Haydn exceptional is that he is a highly technical developer who can still talk ‘homosapien’. Haydn was able to translate what we wanted perfectly in the function of the product while keeping us fully informed in a language that we understood…[He] always absorbed the pressure without complaint or issue.”

Charity
Our client in the youth justice sector was not satisfied with the e-learning resources that had been developed for them, at some considerable cost. Since 2010 NetCarrel have helped them to re-develop two national training programmes and deliver these improved resources online through a heavily customised, yet coherent, Moodle-based training environment.
For both programmes a variety of modules have been developed, each with a mix of core Moodle resources, Flash, video and interactive features supported through a customised user administration and tracking system. Months of development between the client, NetCarrel and external instructional designers; subject matter experts; system developers and end users across the public and private sector have resulted in online learning that is vibrant and engaging. This redevelopment work has also been a cost-effective way for our client to progress their e-learning resources.
Hundreds of trainees, in England, Wales and Scotland have completed the training for these programmes and are using this knowledge to run youth justice projects around the United Kingdom.
